Brakes - Spares & replacement parts: Washers / screws / Bolts / gaskets / adapters / blooding Kits / sealants / brackets / connectors

The brakes can be divided into two large categories within which we can differentiate different brakes:

  • Rim Brakes:
    • Calipier Brakes: The brake is attached to the bicycle frame by a single screw. This screw is used as a pivot and makes the clamping function. Making the pads contact the braking surface. Inside the Calipier brakes we find the Central shot, Dual pivot side shot, single pivot side shot.
    • Cantilever Brakes: These brakes have two pivots located on each side of the wheel. Each pivot holds an arm with its brake pad. These brakes were the most used in mountain bikes for a long period. Inside the Cantilever brakes we can find the central or direct shot brakes.
    • crankset Brakes: used on old bikes. They were only useful on Westwood wheels and the lugs used as a braking surface the inner face of the wheel ring.
    • V-Brake brakes: They are the evolution and combination of the Calipier and Cantilever brakes. On each side of the wheel there is an arm with a pivot, so you get a higher braking power
    • Brakes Turbo trainer-Cam: They are similar to the V-brakes but have a turbo trainer in the upper area that allowed to improve braking. They are uncommon today due to the complexity of adjustment they present.
  • Mace Brakes:
    • Drum Brakes: It is uncommon because of its high weight. They work through two lugs placed inside a drum, which push outward causing braking
    • Disc Brakes: They are the most used in mountain bikes as they adapt very well to conditions of mud and water. The mechanism can be hydraulic or mechanical but the two have very good braking power
    • Brake Pedal: It is used in Fixie bicycles or fixed sprockets. It is braked by exerting force on the pedals in the opposite direction to which you advance. This way the wheel loses strength and slowly slows down.

Although some of these braking systems are already in disuse, for those that are used, a large number of spare parts are needed to keep them in perfect condition. For this reason CoreBicycle gathers in the category brakes – Spare parts all the necessary parts, for example:

  • Washers
  • Screws
  • Tubes
  • Together
  • Gums
  • Adapters
  • Purge Kits
  • Sealants
  • Adjustment Kits
  • Stands
  • Connectors
  • Spacers
  • ...

Using the CoreBicycle Searcher is very simple: you only have to filter within the category components by brakes-spare parts and you will find all the necessary parts and refills of the major brands worldwide For example: Shimano, Avid, Hope, Hayes, Formula, BBB, Clarks, Swiss Stop, Maqura, Cinelli, Tektro, Goodrige, Jagwire, Campagnolo, TRP, Ashima, Sram, Odyssey, reverse...
